Ach wer bringt die schönen Tage,
Jene Tage der ersten Liebe,
Ach wer bringt nur eine Stunde
Jener holden Zeit zurück!

Einsam nähr' ich meine Wunde
Und mit stets erneuter Klage
Traur' ich [um's verlorne]1 Glück.

Ach, wer bringt die schönen Tage,
[Jene holde Zeit zurück!]2

Det første tap
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)  after the German (Deutsch)
Akk, hvem bringer tilbake de vakre dagene,
den første kjærlighets dager,
Akk, hvem bringer tilbake kun en time
fra denne lykkelig tid?

Ensom mater jeg mine sår,
og med stadig fornyet klage
sørger jeg over den tapte lykke.
